Tajikistan has a significant amount of local raw materials that can be used in the manufacturing of building materials such as: gypsum plaster, cement, dried and lime-sand brick, paint and varnish products, roofing material, and filling material. The enterprise also produces a wide assortment of new products, such as metal-plastic windows, doors, stained-glass windows, and metalwork, using the products of the Tajik Aluminium Company. The manufacture of decorative paving and facing slabs, marble bars and other products from building marble and the production of asbestos-cement pipes; tiles and other roofing materials have been developed.

History. Tajikistan's building materials production was constructed through enterprises that were constructed during the Soviet era; these enterprises possess significant export potential. For example there are: cement works that have the capacity to produce 1 million tons of cement per year, manufacturing factories that reinforce concrete construction, house-building enterprises, building material factories, and high capacity factories that produce dried and lime-sand brick and precast concrete. These enterprises are experienced in industrialized house building with large-panel housing construction. The enterprises were reconstructed to be able to work with new kinds of materials, such as haydite, agloporite, mineral wool, and light concrete panels before the fall of the USSR. After the fall of the USSR, the branch was re-stimulated by the resumed construction of several hydroelectric power stations.
